VENITE UNIVERSITY NURSING STUDENTS KICK OFF NUNSA WEEK WITH HYPERTENSION AWARENESS RALLY AND FREE BP CHECKS

The 2026 NUNSA Week celebration commenced with an Awareness Day campaign focused on hypertension, as nursing students of National Universities Nursing Students Association gathered at the university main hall for the official flag off of the awareness rally and walk.

Holding the NUNSA banner with pride, the students moved in excitement from the main hall to the Administrative Office, where they were warmly received by the University PRO, Mr. David Babatunde Ojeifo, the Registrar, Dr. Ezekiel Agbaje, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charity Aremu. Addressing the students, the Vice Chancellor congratulated them on the successful commencement of the week long celebration and commended their commitment to health advocacy.

As part of the awareness campaign, nursing students conducted blood pressure checks for lecturers and members of staff, promoting the importance of regular monitoring and healthy living.

The event became more colourful as the students joyfully welcomed the Head of the Department of Nursing, Dr. Mrs. Modupe Oye, who officially declared the NUNSA Week open with prayers and words of encouragement. Also speaking at the event, Dr. Mrs. Olowolaju urged students to uphold the values of dedication, compassion, and excellence in the nursing profession.

The day ended on a lively note as students danced around the campus alongside the Nursing HOD, marking a memorable beginning to the Venite 2026 NUNSA Week celebration.
