In a groundbreaking initiative aligned with the university’s mission to produce innovative, self-reliant, and value-driven graduates, veteran broadcaster and media consultant Mr. Babs Daramola recently engaged with the university’s student media team.
This effort is part of the institution’s preparations to establish a state-of-the-art TV and radio station, a project set to redefine campus media.
Mr. Daramola, who boasts nearly 30 years of industry experience in senior roles at leading radio and TV stations, delivered a dynamic session focused on the fundamentals of media creation. Drawing from his expertise as a seasoned trainer and former Special Assistant on Broadcast Media to the Ekiti State Governor, he shared valuable insights into photography, videography, and content creation.
During the session, Mr. Daramola encouraged students to embrace their media talents, emphasizing that excellence in the field transcends academic backgrounds. “The best media practitioners are not always mass communication graduates,” he stated, inspiring attendees to push boundaries and leverage their creativity.
To reinforce practical learning, he assigned a video creation task, which the students executed with remarkable proficiency. Impressed by their efforts, Mr. Daramola praised the team’s potential and commitment to delivering quality content.
This initiative underscores the university’s dedication to equipping students with world-class industry knowledge and hands-on experience, ensuring they are prepared to lead and innovate in the ever-evolving media landscape.
