Venite University Launches Student Programme Representatives Forum, Elects Pioneer Leaders
Venite University officially launched its pioneer Student Programme Representatives Forum (SPRF) on July 1st, 2025, with the election of departmental leaders into principal positions. The SPRF is a newly established platform created to actively involve students in institutional discourse, address pressing welfare concerns, and ensure that the student voice remains central in decision-making processes in a bid to deepen student-administration engagement.
Held at the university’s Adminstration Conference Hall, the inauguration was witnessed by key members of the university’s management, including Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kelvin A. Aduloju, Registrar Dr. Ezekiel A. Agbaje, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. F.T. Akinola and her deputy Mr. Samuel L. Adekale, as well as Barr. Ayomide Giwa, representing the university library.
Emerging from the election was Pipeloluwa Babatunde, a 200-level student of Physiotherapy, who clinched the position of Governor. Taiwo Oluwatuyi, a 100-level Nursing student, was elected Scribe, while the role of Speaker was taken by Iseoluwa Adeyefa, also of the Nursing Department, 200 level.
Describing the forum as a “structured space for collaborative dialogue,” Prof. Aduloju charged the newly elected leaders to remain focused, responsible, and resist the lure of populist activism. “This is not a student union government,” he declared firmly. “It’s a leadership platform built to foster solutions, not rebellion.”
The elected officers took an oath of allegiance administered by Barr. Giwa, The ceremony also included a constitution briefing by Dr. F.T. Akinola, who urged members to uphold the values of integrity, humility, and academic excellence.
Venite University’s establishment of the SPRF aligns with its broader mission to groom self-reliant graduates not just academically sound, but equipped with the leadership depth to thrive in complex environments. By bringing students to the decision table, the institution reaffirms its commitment to co-creating a future-ready academic culture driven by participation, purpose, and progress.
Henceforth, all matters concerning student welfare are to be channelled through the elected forum leaders, who now serve as the official link between the student body and the university management.
