VENITE UNIVERSITY DRIVES INSTITUTIONAL EXPANSION WITH NEW LAW COLLEGE PROJECT

Venite University, Iloro Ekiti, marked a significant milestone in its academic expansion with the official groundbreaking ceremony for its proposed College of Law on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The event took place at the designated site within the university campus and attracted members of the Governing Council, principal officers, and key stakeholders of the institution.

The ceremony was hosted by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Olabisi Aina, who led other dignitaries in commemorating the historic occasion.

In her address, the Pro Chancellor, Professor Olabisi Aina, attributed the rapid growth and infrastructural development of the university to divine grace. She expressed gratitude to God, leading a moment of thanksgiving during the ceremony. She also performed the official laying of the foundation block, signaling the commencement of construction work on the College of Law.

Also speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Charity Aremu, described the establishment of the College of Law as a strategic step toward advancing higher education in Nigeria. She expressed her excitement at being part of the university’s growth trajectory, noting that the introduction of the law programme represents a new height in the institution’s development.

According to her, the decision to adopt a world class architectural design for the College of Law was deliberate, as the university aims to build a structure that meets global standards and complies with the requirements of the National Universities Commission and relevant legal professional bodies in Nigeria.

Also speaking at the event, the project architect, Architect Arewa Oluwaseun, and the lead engineer, Engineer Bamikole, assured stakeholders that the project would be executed to world class standards and would stand as a reference point in legal education infrastructure in Nigeria.

A member of the Governing Council and Director of Strategy, Advancement and Partnership, Honorable Dapo Kolawole, expressed appreciation to stakeholders and partners of the university. He commended members of the Governing Council and collaborators whose support has continued to drive infrastructural development within the institution.

The ceremony concluded with a goodwill message delivered by Mrs Funmi Nwaguma, a member of the Governing Council, who commended the university’s leadership for its visionary strides.
